I decided to mimic a Lady Gaga Costume from the outfit Lady Gaga wore to last year's MTV music video awards. She wore her hair curly and her red lace dress covered her face and had a cape. It also had a tall medieval looking crown. I bought nude fabric and sewed it in a tube that I wore under the dress, then cut two triangles out of the red lace fabric and sewed them on the tube to resemble red underwear.
The red lacey dress is made by sewing the lace like a poncho and trimming the excess, then sewing on sleeves and adding a hood to the front. The crown is poster board that I spray painted red and used adhesive glue to glue the red lace on top. I traced the points on the opposite side of the poster and trimmed it with fabric scissors then measured around my head and hot glued the poster board to fit over my wig as a crown.

I LOVE Lady Gaga, and I couldn't wait for Halloween when I could be her for a day!
This homemade Lady Gaga costume was inspired by the Poker Face music video, and mostly a snap to put together. I started with a shimmery purple leotard and put it over black liquid snake skin leggings. I threw on a cropped black biker jacket just so I wouldn't completely freeze to death!
The blonde wig I got at a party store and straightened the heck out of it on LOW HEAT and then brushed it until it was pin straight. The glasses, inspired by The Fame CD cover, are just oversized sunglasses from ForLove21; I took a hot glue gun and added clear plastic gems in different sizes all over one lens and a bit of the second. I couldn't see through one of my eyes, but it was worth it!
I loved Lady Gaga's outfit at the VMA's so I decided to make it for Halloween.
I made the hat out of fishnet stockings, lace, and wire pulled from an old hat. I made the mask with a full mask, cut to shape and covered with gold leafing. I made the neck corset with lace, beads, chains, and lots of feathers. I made the ring out of feathers and a brooch for the top. I even dyed the wig a pinkish red on one side.
I'm not an experienced seamstess at all so this costume was put together with very simple stitching and lots of hot glue. I had a lot of fun being Lady Gaga for the night.
