Homemade Juno Macguff and Paulie Bleeker from Juno Costume
My Fiancee and I decided to be the lead roles in Juno for Halloween. For the Homemade Juno Macguff and Paulie Bleeker from Juno Costume we tried to spend as little as possible. I believe our most expensive single item purchase was Bleeker's shirt, we ordered it online for $20. The other items were purchased at Target, Academy, and the mall.
Juno's glasses were difficult to find, but ultimately we tracked the exact style down to Urban Outfitters. For Juno, we dyed my fiancee's hair brown, got a striped shirt from target, plaid skirt from the thrift store, and shoes from Marshals. For Bleeker, we found the shorts and most golden shorts from academy. We also got a white headband and wrist bands that we dyed gold from academy as well. I got long tube socks from target and painted the maroon and gold stripes on the top with acrylic paint.
We utilized simple props from the movie such as a sunny D carton and a pipe for Juno. As well as deodorant and orange tic-tacs for Bleeker. Total, we spent roughly 35-40 dollars on Juno and about 45 dollars on Bleeker.

Halloween is a great time for becoming anyone you want. I always been a fan of Ellen Page but when Juno was released I was instantly hooked. I watch it over and over again. Then, it HIT me. Why I don't become Juno? I began to look for Juno pictures to decide which Juno look I will get. After searching I decided to go with the classic look. I scavenged through my closet and found a long green skirt and I had an orange striped shirt. All I needed was a jacket (borrowed it from a friend) and of course a pregnant belly! I made it with a piece of cloth I bought at a craft store and sew inside some fluffy stuff. It came pretty nice and it was the funniest part. All of my friends loved it. The peculiar thing is that this Homemade Juno Costume Idea was the cheapest costume I have ever used/made but the one that everybody loved. All night I had people telling me how cool and original it was. It was an awesome feeling.
For the better part of the movie, Juno wears a Slinky t-shirt. I created this t-shirt by drawing the design in Adobe Illustrator and printing it on an iron-on-transfer ($10.00 per package) and ironing it onto a t-shirt (less than $5.00). There are Slinky t-shirts now available online.
The jeans and the hoodie were clothing that I already owned. I purchased the plaid skirt at Khol’s ($5.00). My two props were the Slushy cup which I drank from during the party, and a hamburger phone that I carved out of a block of Styrofoam and painted. I carved out a space on the bottom and inserted my cell phone.
The iconic pregnant belly was a pillow tied around my waist. This is my Homemade Juno Costume.
I had thought about being Juno for a while, as it's one of my favorite movies, but the actual Juno costume came together very last minute. I had the jeans, the skirt, and the shoes. I went to Target and found the striped shirt for $4, and the belly is actually a soccer ball pillow that I bought at Target for $10, but returned the next day!
The belly button is just the cap to one of my perfume bottles. So, I spent less than five bucks on this. Oh, plus the big gulp, which was like $1.99.
This costume was such a hit! I had people coming up and asking me if I was really pregnant - at a bar!!
