For this Homemade Snooki Costume I started by going to the store and looking for a low cut shirt. I found the zebra shirt and a pair of leggings at a local store. I then bought a pair of sunglasses and a cheap chain and glued the chain to the glasses. This wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. Hot glue did not work. I used a glue called goop.
I wanted to find the boots that Snooki wears, but I wasn't willing to purchase the boots for $160.00. So I found furry leggings on a website and pulled them up over my cheap brown boots. I also used a bronzer on my face and fake eyelashes and of course a lot of make-up. And yes, that is my own hair. I just puffed it up like Snooki's and used a small clip to hold it up along with a ton of hairspray. I also went to a costume jewelry store and bought a cheap pair of big hoop earrings. This is my version of Snooki from Jersey Shore.
This Homemade No Jersey Randy Marsh Costume was inspired by an episode of South Park from 2010. The episode was titled "It's a Jersey Thing", in the episode the entire town of South Park decides to wage a war against the invading Jersey Shore crew. This costume is specifically based off the scene in which the Jersey people are approaching South Park's existing blockade. Randy Marsh rushes forward with the flag exclaiming "F*** New Jersey" as the South Park crew opens fire.
This costume wound up being a huge hit and a perfect fit with my Halloween group, since them and 50% of the rest of the costumes were all characters from Jersey Shore. All the costume took was creating the mask out of cardboard and felt, a blue button down shirt with breast pockets for pens and some gray pants. The mask only took a couple of days to finish.
It was easy to put this Jersey Shore Adult Couple Costume together to be Pauly D and Snooki. For Pauly D - we got the wig, really large magnetized earrings, headphones, a too-tight Ed Hardy looking t- shirt, and a velvet blazer for when we went out. For Snooki – we got the wig, put WAY too much makeup on, mandatory tight leopard dress, and sunglasses that I glued rhinestones to. It helped that I’m 5 feet tall!
The best part was the tans. We looked much darker than in the photo. Just used bronzer on the faces and purchased Sally Hansen spray on pantyhose at Walgreens for the tans. It is great – waterproof and looks even. My husband is pretty pale, so this was definitely a different look for him. Many people didn’t even recognize him!
Everything we wore with our costumes we either already had or bought at a local discount clothing store. For my husband's hair we used black spray paint and of course for mine A LOT of hair spray! We also did spray tanning the day of to be more guido/guidette! We borrowed his necklace from a friend and found some magnetic earings. Not sure if we are specific jersey shore characters but we did get called Sammy and the Solution (instead of the Situation) all night. We decided it sounded better to be called the "solution" to everyone's problems rather than the "situation" of everyones problems. LOL. Hope you like our Homemade Jersey Shore Costume.
This Jersey Shore Costume is a GREAT idea for a group costume or theme party! The best thing is that these clothes are what people wear every day so everything was easy to find. We found all of our outfits at the local mall -in the 'teen' stores. I found a few items at a second hand store as well. We purchased large hoop earrings, cross necklaces, large sunglasses (we glued 'bling' on the ladies), temporary tattoos, lots of dark eye makeup and several bottles of spray tanner and bronzing powder. We made sure to 'poof' all the ladies' hair with lots of hair spray. And don't forget to fist pump all night!
This is the second year in a row that I have dressed up as "Snooki" from Jersey Shore for two reasons. First reason, I look similar to her (dark hair, short, tan) and secondly, I was broke this year so decided to recycle some of my "going out" clothes to dress up like her! I wore black and cheetah print with flashy accessories and my hair poofed up so I look like her. I have had countless people tell me I looked just like her with my costume and I had so much fun dressing up as her!
