The best thing about this Homemade Aladdin and Jasmine Couple Costume is that it was really inexpensive to make.

For Jasmine:
I bought a silk PJ set from an Asian store for $12.
I bought a coin belt from ebay for $5.45
I bought half a yard of chiffon material from Joanne's for $4

Okay so first, I opened up the PJ shirt and cut it up. I added elastic and turned it into a crop top. I cut the chiffon and used elastic on both the top and the bottom of the sleeves to make them stay on my arm, and then with elastic I attached it my top (making the top was actually pretty hard...but if you know how to use a sewing machine it should be fine).

Then, I used a leftover piece from the PJ shirt and cut it, put elastic inside of it, and taped a gem onto the center (you can buy some at Joanne's but I had some at home). Then I just put it in my hair using bobby pins.

Total: about $18

For Aladdin:
I bought a $2 purple muscle tank top from the women's clearance section at Sears.
and that's it.

My boyfriend cut the shirt down the middle and used double sided tape to keep the sides from flapping out. He wore my dad's old martial arts uniform pants, which were perfect. For the hat, he cut a foam cup in half and used the bottom. Then he used leftover red felt to cover it, and stuck a headband through the middle of it.

Total: $2.

Coolest Homemade Princess Jasmine Halloween Costume Idea 3

Homemade Homemade Princess Jasmine Halloween Costume Idea

I have always wanted to be a princess for Halloween but never got the chance. Now that I am 20 years old, I thought it would be silly but turns out it was the best idea yet. Since Princess Jasmine is my favorite and I have the looks, I figured that would be my best bet.

At first I was going to buy the costume, but I couldn't find one that was truly me. So I went to JoAnnes and got some fabric, I have a sewing machine at my house since I like to alter my clothing. Since I am not as good at sewing as I wish I was, I decided to make the pants by attaching them by underwear shorts that I had. The design is very simple and just right for my complexion.

For the top, I sewed the fabric straight on the bra, and put little rhinestones on the folds that I made in the middle of the top. I also made a gold hair band out of the same fabric as the belt and the back of the bra.

I feel that my Homemade Princess Jasmine Halloween Costume Idea turned out great and suits me very well.

Coolest Homemade Jasmine Halloween Costume

Homemade Jasmine Halloween Costume

I made this Homemade Jasmine Halloween Costume (from the Disney movie Aladdin) out of all things I already had.

All I used was:
A blue sports bra
Blue sweat pants
A blue hair ribbon
A blue jeweled pin off an old dress (for the headband jewel)
Gold bangle bracelets
A gold bead necklace (just the Mardi Gras type)
Sheer blue fabric (I cut it off an old ballet costume from when I was 4, but you can buy it pretty cheap at any craft store. I used it to cover my stomach and for the arm bands.)
Big gold earrings (not included in picture)
Gold ballet flats (not included in picture)

I also have a small oriental rug that I'm going to carry around, while sing "A Whole New World" (of course!).

Aladdin was always my favorite Disney movie so this year I decided to be Jasmine. My Grandma is very good at sewing so I asked her to make my homemade Jasmine costume.

We found a pattern for genie type outfits. I bought some teal satin-like material from Hobby Lobby. For the earrings I used gold Christmas ornaments and for the necklace I used some craft foam and painted it gold. I bought the wig online for about $25. I found some gold flats at Payless for about $15.
