I originally got this idea for a Homemade Ice Cream Cone Costume from this website and then just made it my own in a couple of areas. I bought a couple yards of pink and brown sation fabric and asked my mother-in-law to sew them together. She bunched them with elastic at the top, the bottom, and in the middle where the two "flavors" met. She lined the suit so that we could stuff crinoline between the liner and the satin and puff it up a bit. She also made me flesh colored leggings, but you can always buy these at the store.

I then bought acrylic brown paint, and painted on the waffle cone pattern. My cherry hat is a Styrofoam ball, wrapped in sequined red fabric. I looped some white ribbons at the bottom to create a "whipped cream" effect, and then hot-glued it to a headband. Then I simply wore a white shirt (could be your vanilla ice cream layer, or the whipped cream!). To make it even cuter, I made one for my 1 year old so that we matched.

To spend Halloween at Disneyworld this year, I needed costumes that were easy to pack. I found the Triple Dip costume pattern on Better Homes & Gardens Magazine's website. I used T-shirt knit for the scoops, 100% cotton for the sugar cone skirt and syrups, white satin ribbon for the whipped cream and sequined fabric for the cherry.

Not having a pattern for the Milkshake costume, I used flexible tubing from Lowe's to shape the rim and base of the cup inside white knit and brown flannel for the chocolate. I used dark brown yarn as chocolate syrup and a wrapping paper tube with red paper for the straw.

I attached the words "Mickey's Milkshake" along with Mickey ears to complete the project. Aside from the many compliments and photos taken by strangers, the best part of the night was when Tigger tried to drink out of my son's straw while Pooh pretended to eat my daughter's ice cream cone. These Triple Dip Ice Cream Cone and Milkshake Costumes were a big hit!

Coolest Homemade Ice Cream Couple Halloween Costume 17

Homemade Ice Cream Couple Halloween Costume

Homemade Ice Cream Couple Halloween Costume

I wanted to make something different than other couples, so I decided on a homemade ice cream couple Halloween costume.

For my boyfriend's banana split costume, I purchased the banana costume. I made 3 paper mache for the ice cream (vanilla, strawberry, chocolate). I covered each flavor of ice cream with silk fabric, you can purchase any kind of fabric. I used the extra brown fabric to make the chocolate syrup. Cut sprinkles out from using colored filt. Made a huge cherry out of red fabric for him and myself.

For my ice cream sundae costume I used pink and brown fabric as the scoop of ice cream, stuffed myself with about 8 yds of tulle, made my whip cream arms out of old long sleeves, covered with brown fabric for syrup and colored filt as sprinkles. Then top with the cherry and white filt under as whip cream. And for the cone I had leggings and just painted on stripes for the waffle cone effect. Hope this helped : )

For this vanilla ice cream cone costume, we first used an old lampshade and some foam, both covered in tan colored fabric to create the ice cream cone. We then added suspenders that we looped through the lampshade, brought up over her shoulders, and criss-crossed to keep it from falling down.

Next, we spread out some white satin material and cut it into a long rectangle that we then turned under and sewed into a long tube. We stuffed the tube with poly-fill, sewed the ends together, and wrapped it, spiraling it upward, around my daughter's body. We pinned and then tacked the white ice cream at various places to keep the layers together, leaving a little space for her arms to come out of the costume and to help keep it up.

We cut two inch pieces of dowel rod and painted them various bright colors to represent candy sprinkles which were then attached with hot glue from out glue gun.

Brilliant

This is brilliant I am so stealing this idea. My niece wants to be an Ice cream cone and I was desperately trying to figure out the best way, love the idea but think I will do a "flavor" for the ice cream swirl. Thanks for the inspiration!
