We go camping a lot in the summer and we always get an ice cream cone. My son decided he wanted an Homemade Ice Cream Cone with Sprinkles and Cherry Top Costume. I took 2 -4 foot pieces of heavy cardboard stock and cut them into a v-shape. Then, using brown markers, drew lines slightly vertically to make it look like a sugar cone. I then sprayed Elmers glue on it and sprinkled sand on it for the sugary look.

The ice cream part was also easy. I glued craft batting onto a tee-shirt (front and back, in the shape of a scoop of ice cream. This way, all he had to do was slip on the shirt and it was an instant costume. I attached the batting to the cone with industrial glue so it was all 1 piece. I then took pipe cleaners in 5 colors and cut them into 2 inch pieces (these were the sprinkles). After all was dry, I actually used real nut topping and glued in on to the ice cream.

Lastly, I painted his face red and we used a red hat on his head with a pipe cleaner coming out of the top for the “cherry on top”. This was the biggest hit at the campground. He had his picture taken so many times, we hardly had time to actually trick or treat.

Actual cost was about $3.00 for the glue.

I made these Ice Cream Sundae Costumes with lightweight rubber bowls, felt, sweatshirts, fleece and elastic. First I cut the arms out of white oversized sweatshirts and sewed a sleeveless t-shirt inside. I stuffed pillow stuffing between the sweatshirt and t-shirt. I cut syrup and sprinkles out of felt and hot glued that to the sweatshirt. Then I cut leg hole out of the bowls with a drill and little holes to put elastic suspenders through. I tried each end of the elastic so it would not go through the holes.

I then cut and sewed little pillows shaped like melted ice cream and pinned them to the sweatshirt. The last thing was to make cherry hats and I chose to make a toboggan. I measured the head and then sewed the seam and tied the tops. Then when it was time to put on I put the bowl on first then the sweatshirt over it, so you can't see the suspenders. If it is cold out you could also put a while long sleeve shirt under it.

Meet Athena L., she is a 17 month old and is the most outgoing toddler you will ever meet. She has a very "Eclectic" sense of style. And believe me she knows what's "pretty" and what’s not. I knew that going to a drugstore for a Halloween costume would just feel wrong.

Our whole family loves Dippin' dots, and Athena is no exclusion. She sees the Dippin Dot cart and Yells out "Um! Um! Uuuum!" ice cream is her favorite treat.

Her Mimi and I went on a long mission to find the perfect materials for this homemade toddler Dippin' Dots ice cream Halloween costume. It took us about a week overall, but it was worth so it. Athena was the hit of the party. Everyone was taking pictures and asking us how we did it. She is an adorable little girl, but in the costume, she was so irresistibly cute. Honestly, who doesn't love Dippin' Dots ice cream?

Ice Cream Sandwich Halloween Child Costume Idea

My grandson wanted to be an ice cream sandwic (okay, so he is a little different). I bought 2 styrofoam rectangles and glued brown felt squares to one side of each piece of styrofoam. I inserted white thumb tacks to represent the little holes in an ice cream sandwich. I used adhesive velcro to hold the two sides together and make straps. I also used adhesive velcro to hold the sides together at the hip.
