Homemade Pretty Woman Costume

Pretty woman Costume. We’ll start from head to toe.
Hat – already had a velvet newsboy cap.
Wig – $20 from a cheap wig store
Makeup – subtle, except for red lips.
Necklaces – cord from craft store for 2 necklaces (one with a key on it, the other with a generic pendant), and two other silver necklaces I already had
Jacket- Five bucks from goodwill + $2 black trim from fabric store.
Bracelets – a bunch of black plastic and metal cheap from walmart and my jewelry box.
Ring – she wore one on middle finger right hand.
Manicure – no polish, just filed nails.
Purse – wasn’t shown much in movie, but it is waist length and slouchy, mine was three bucks from goodwill.
Dress – I cut up a white tank top from old navy, blue stretch fabric for skirt, you only need one seam down the side of skirt and attached to the top with 2 rings (one front, one back).
Boots – I got on sale for about $40 at JCPenney. (actually I just wanted the boots and needed an excuse to buy them.)

I recommend if you are making a costume from a movie – watch (and pause) the movie at home, and take pictures of strategic places when the costume is shown. Take many pics – of jewelry, front and back of costume, wigs, shoes, makeup. Take them with you when you are out shopping. Keep the pics with you at all times, because you can find different items at fabric stores, craft stores, walmart, goodwill, etc.
