OK, first you have to go to your local thrift store or Goodwill, if that fails go to a store called 'Jomar'- that's were I got my dress. You need a blonde wig unless you have blonde hair, do your hair in an old fashion beehive.

Then you purchase a few dozen black crows (can be found in a local craft store or eBay) and you also need a black boa to be cut up for feathers like the birds are falling apart from impact of flying in to you. You use a hot glue gun and attach birds all over the dress with feathers from boa all over. Slice dress in certain spots to look like you were pecked at by the birds.

Then you need stockings and high heels and an old brown hand bag, which all can be found at a thrift store or borrow from someone. Then where costume is all sliced and ripped throw red fake blood on it all over were birds are. I suggest - look at the movie if you want exact detail like I did. Hope you enjoy, happy Halloween...

I purchased these crows for Halloween decoration at my home and after observing them I got the idea of dressing up like a farmer and making the crows look like they attacked me.

The crows were wired and hot glued to the suspenders, shirt and hat as well as wounds were created by tearing parts of the shirt in the front and back and sticking cotton balls and spread with fake blood that I made using corn syrup and red food coloring. Most of the crows had some flesh on their beaks. One of the crows in my chest seemed that he was pulling out some flesh. Mother crow was on top of the hat, also a smaller crow looking down and trying to pick away a piece of flesh from another crow.

At our town Halloween party I never got so much questions and attention from folks!!

Halloween is my favorite day of the year, so I am always trying to out do the year before.

Hoping to be a real stand out I watched every horror movie I could find until I found my Tippy inspiration. Lucky me, I have the perfect outfit for that! I bought this suit 8 years ago for about 5 bucks at a Goodwill.

The birds were the hardest to find. The most affordable are online flower arrangement shops that sell a variety of black birds of all sizes. I weaved wire through the suit and reinforced with thread and super glue for the birds flying around me.
Stuck a bunch in my hair. Blood. and voile!

This Homemade Hitchcock Tippy from The Birds Costume was a huge hit. The only thing I would do differently is more birds. You can never have too many birds!

Coolest DIY Hitchcock's The Birds Halloween Costume 7

I was inspired by my lack of funds to create a cheap costume that didn't look cheap. That being said, I went to a Thrift store and found a dress for 2.50 cents that I felt to be '60's inspired. Next, I bought some white lark birds at a wedding store, which I then spraypainted black and covered them with acrylic red paint (for maximum evil). They were then placed on hangers and twisted around a metal clamp which I put around my neck and hid with my collar.

Feathers and additional birds/blood/tears were then put all over my sweet and innocent 2.50 dollar dress. Poor thing.

And that, my friends, is how you do a DIY Hitchcock's The Birds Halloween Costume!

This is the best DIY costume I've seen in years, and the fact that it was so inexpensive to make doesn't make it cheap. It is excellent!!!!

This costume is really quite authentic looking. I love the birds pecking at her and flying around her. The blood, everything...its very authentic! Nothing that costs so much money to do, and really scary!!!

Alfred Hitchcock is one of my favorite geniuses for murder mysteries and horror!

I enjoyed making this Homemade Tippi Hedren Birds Costume so much. It was easy. The dress and jacket was from the Goodwill and the "birds" were from Michael's craft store.

It cost next to nothing to make and put together. Best part I could work in it. I'm a server at a Country Club. The residents loved it. AND I won first prize for the scarest costume!!
