Homemade Cup Noodles Halloween Costume

Do you need to stay warm but still be cool on a cold Halloween night while Trick or Treating? Top Ramen or Instant noodle soup lunch is the answer. This Homemade Cup Noodles Halloween Costume is made out of a vinyl tablecloth sewn in a tube. Make it wider on the upper portion to make it looked tapered. I sewed a top for the “soup” part and cut out holes for the head and arms to go through.

The top part was stiffened by foam board to keep it circular and prevent the noodles from overflowing off the cup. Yellow felt was cut up for the noodles and glue-gunned to the top. It was garnished with green-painted beads (peas) and orange-painted wooden cubes (carrots). You could add corn, but they might just get lost in the yellow ramen noodles.

The logo was penciled in and I just used red and yellow Sharpie markers for the logo and cup design. The chopsticks (2 dowels) added a finishing touch. If you prefer, you could make a giant spoon/fork out of cardboard, attach it to a dowel and wrap it in foil or paint it silver.

Happy trick or trEATING!

Coolest Homemade Silly String Cheese Costume

Homemade Silly String Cheese Costume

Our daughter is only 4, so one would think she would want to be a princess or Hannah Montana for Halloween, but no... she always wants to be something unique. Last year she was broccoli! An idea she came up with on her own when she was 2, we thought for sure by time Halloween came around when she was 3 she would have changed her mind... nope.

Then the day after Halloween last year she said, "Next year (2009) I want to be cheese!" And so the idea for the Homemade Silly String Cheese Costume came about! Her father is the creative costume designer. The string cheese costume is quite simple, but oh so adorable! He started with a plain sweat suit from Old Navy, used polar fleece to make the "strings of cheese"... basically made a huge glove, stuffed it with foam and then attached it to the back of the hoodie with white yarn.

He made a photo copy of the "Frigo" string cheese label from a Costco size package, laminated it and tied it with yarn around her.

How did you attach the top part to the hood? My daughter loves this idea!

Great idea!

It seems that your future Halloween costumes will continue to be creative and interesting. Congrats on having a smart little girl! This shows that she already thinks for herself and doesn't follow the rest of the herd. Great job, Mom and Dad!

Coolest Homemade Spit Roast Costume 1

Homemade Spit Roast Costume

Homemade Spit Roast Costume

I tried to combine my two favourite pastimes: eating and dressing, and threw this costume spit roast costume together for 20 euros for a huge fancy dress competition that is held in a town in Ireland on the August bank holiday weekend every year. Competition is fierce and it is a big deal to win so I'm hoping!

My idea consisted of me dressing up as a pig and being the main part of a dinner feast. I made it look like i was a pig on a platter in the middle of a table set for four people with plates, cutlery and glasses. I made the table out of cardboard and held it up with a pair of my uncles braces. I then decorated the plates with pasta and sauce that I dried and stuck together with glue.

I think it came together fairly well and am really looking forward to seeing if everybody at the festival likes my idea.
