Flavor Flav and Tiffany (New York) Pollard Costumes
Flavor Flav and New York aren't hugely original, so my boyfriend and I decided to switch roles. He went as New York and I went as Flavor Flav. This worked well as I am 5'3" and short and scrawny like Flavor Flav and my boyfriend is 6'3". What made it even funnier is that he is this huge lumbering guy walking around all night in these shoes and a dress that barely fit!
We went to a thrift shop to get his dress, shoes, and bra. We got his wig from a costume store. I did his makeup and his hair!
For the Flavor Flav outfit, we recycled a "pimp" costume from years past. Used a plastic paper plate, Mardi Gras beads and white-out to make the clock. The Viking hat was a few dollars at a costume store. I couldn't find the perfect hair that was like Flavor Flavs, so I got green braids and painted them black. We got all our gold bling-y accent jewelry at the costume store and everyone loved it!
This coolest homemade Flavor Flav costume was relatively cheap last Halloween. It was company appropriate and everyone enjoyed it. I got the viking hat from any regular costume store. The clock had to be right so I found one with some ling on it. The jump suit came from Walmart, nothing too fancy, it's just something he wore a lot of. I used regular foil on my teeth to add the bling. Its not too hard to talk and drink with and they can be removed very easily. There are some cheap grills out there but they make it hard to talk and they can make you start drooling.
As long as you have a couple of his dance moves down and you shout "yeeeeeeeeee boi" and "WoooooooooooW" you will be the life of the party. It would have been a better costume if someone went as Brigitte Nielsen or New york with me.

Homemade Flavor Flav and Ms. New York Costume
My husband and I went to a costume party dressed in a Homemade Flavor Flav and Ms. New York Costume .
For his costume, we borrowed a lime green suit and I made the cape out of neon green crushed velor fabric. I wrote Flava across the back of it in gold glitter. We bought the Viking hat, fake teeth, glasses, pimp jewelry and walking cane at a local party store. I bought the wall clock at Wal-Mart.
For the Ms. New York costume, I bought the dress at an adult store in Venice beach and paired it with a pair of boots I already owned. I also already had the black wig and just stuck a flower from the Dollar Store in it. For my “clock” I printed out a picture of Ms. New York off the internet and just wrote numbers in black magic marker and fastened it around my neck.
The only thing I bought for this Flavor Flav costume was the viking hat. I hooked a wall clock to a chain and sewed my cape! I thought this guy was crazy after seeing him on VH1 and I had to be him for Halloween in 2006. All of my friends loved it!
