Homemade Baby Elvis Costume

Here's my easy to make baby Elvis costume.

We were going to the Elvis festival in Collingwood and we thought it would be funny to dress the baby up like Elvis and since it was very difficult to find a costume so small and in such a short time a decided to make it myself and it was a success!

I used a pair of white pants, a white dress shirt, glitter glue, a piece of gold fabric and Velcro.

I cut a straight line from the bottom up on each side of the pants and sleeves and I sew a triangle of gold fabric to it to make the bell bottom look.

I used another piece of fabric to make the belt and with the fabric left I made the cape, cutting it in a square and rounding the bottom. I attached it with Velcro around the collar of the shirt.

With the glitter glue I decorated the pants, shirt, belt and cape in dots to make them look like rhinestones (which I didn't want to use because I was afraid the baby would put them in his mouth).

I painted his sideburns with black eye shadow and viola! Elvis was born again.

Okay, that is the cutest costume (and baby) I think I've ever seen. Next time my nephews are looking for ideas, I'm going to copy this! Thanks!

We love Elvis so it was only natural to dress our son up like this when he was a baby.

Items Used: White Jumpsuit, Gold and White Shiny Fabric, Gold Squeeze Paint, Velcro, White Sneakers, Aviator Sunglasses.

I just ripped the hems out of the legs and arms and inserted triangle shaped pieces of gold fabric. Then I cut a cape shape out of the gold and white fabric and sewed it together almost like a pillow case with the gold on the inside and the white on the back (I don’t sew often and had no idea what I was doing but it worked). I then attached it to the jumpsuit with Velcro across the shoulders so that it could easily be taken off.

With the left over gold fabric I made a belt and made it connect with another piece of Velcro. After it was assembled I made little gold dots all over the jumpsuit, cape and tennis shoes to resemble sequins.

That is about it. The homemade baby Elvis costume was a great hit!!!

Elvis Lives!

Elvis Lives!

Elvis lives in Colorado! This Elvis costume was made for a celebrity party. I made my own jumpsuit pattern out of a pair of pants and a long sleeve top. The fabric was on the remanent box at a local fabric store and cost me $4! The cape is gold lame on one side and the silver glitter fabric on the other side.

To make it sparkle I hot glued huge jewels in the front of the jumpsuit and the back of the cape. There are hooks on the cape so that it can removed.

I can say that I have seen Elvis in Colorado!
