My 8-year-old son went in a King Tut costume this Halloween. I did make 3 actual purchases for this costume, the staff was store bought for $6, the snake on his headpiece was a broken plastic armband with a cobra on it that I bought for $2, and a plastic mask for about $1.
I made the skirt, and belt pieces out of Satin, and applied the trim with hot glue. The ankle and wrist pieces are jeweled too. I painted a simple plastic mask gold and drew the eye of Horus on it and then glue it to the head piece that was simply a piece of satin with many pieces of trim and jewels hot glued to it.
Total Spent: $26
