Two years ago, before you could buy the costumes everywhere, I decided to take advantage of my long blond hair and dressed up as Beth Chapman (Dog the Bounty Hunter's wife). I went more along the lines of her being sexy and not silly as the costumes you can buy are.
I simply used a black skirt and blouse that I already had (free!). I bought a pair of high black boots from Wall Mart for $20 (sorry you cant see them in the pic), 2 camera cases for $5 a piece that I slid onto a black belt that I already had (free!), a can of silly string ($1) and a children s toy police set that had a badge and handcuffs in it ($5).
I didn't need to stuff my bra but that be what I suggest for the average person. Then, I curled and teased up my hair and put on some dramatic blue eye shadow, red nail polish and red lipstick (about $5 total for the wet 'n wild makeup at any drugstore). I also slid on a pair of my own sunglasses to add more drama.
I won 2nd place for my Beth Chapman costume in the contest (the owner of the place actually came up to me and said "you should have won!") and I received free drinks all night!! Everyone loved this costume!
My husband and I had the perfect costume last year (2007) for Halloween. We were huge fans of the Dog the Bounty Hunter show and thought it would be a great "fit" for us, since my husband is a bit of a tough guy and I have the body/attitude to pull off a Beth costume.
We had a hard time finding pre-made outfits that we felt gave it the right feel. So, we searched for 2 months to get all the parts and pieces necessary, including some huge knockers for me and the perfect mullet wig for him.
We kept our costumes secret from all the friends that were coming over for our 3rd annual Halloween Costume party. We turned heads everywhere we went and seemed to be the talk of the party. It turned out awesome and I'm not sure how we will be able to top it this year!
Comments for Coolest Dog The Bounty Hunter and Beth Costume 6
This Dog the Bounty Hunter and his wife were definitely a last minute decision. We found two blond wigs and went clothes shopping for some black outfits. We used fake tattoos, balloons for big breasts,a belt with various items such as an empty spray paint can painted flat black with the words "BAD GUY SPRAY" on it.
The arm bands were simple small necklaces and beads. We had those cheap plastic hand cuffs and walkie talkies. We won 1st prize at a night club for best couple. These costumes might have cost $40.00 and very little time but was a huge laugh for everyone. Some people at parties thought I was Dee Schnider From Twisted Sister which I found to be just as funny as Dog.
We are going to upload next years costumes that are going to be hilarious, they are already underway.
For our Dog the Bounty hunter and Beth costumes, we bought all of the clothes and shoes from thrift stores.
The leather vest, black jeans and black boots were purchased for Dog. A plain black t-shirt (I cut the edges and added beads, then tied knots at the end for a real 80's look), hideous tapered leg pants and black boots for Beth. The wigs were purchased online and feathers and leather were hot glued to the Dog wig.
I purchased the plain black ball cap for Beth at a craft store. The badges were toys I got in a costume shop. We spray painted them, glued them to black leather and added them to chains.
