My name is Frank and I am a 25 year old who very much enjoys Halloween. Every year I go all out with all my costumes. This year I had a Darkwing Duck Halloween Costume Idea. I started the costume by ordering a children’s plastic duck mask. I then cut the top half of the mask so that my actual eyes would be attached to the beak itself and glued feathers around the cheeks. Last year I was Roger Rabbit and wasn’t able to drink because the mask I had on did not allow access to my mouth. This year I did not want to deal with the hassle of taking the mask off so I cut the beak in half and crazy glued the bottom to my actual jaw so that I would be able to speak and drink.

As for the rest of the outfit, the cape and scarf were made with fabric I bought in downtown. The jacket was purchased at a thrift store but I had to cut off the buttons and apply gold ones so that jacket would look double breasted like the character’s version. My feathered bottom area was actually a feathered shirt I had to make the previous year for the Roger costume; all I did was cut off the arms and wore the shirt as a diaper pretty much.

My feet were actual flippers that I spray painted orange and the gun was purchased at Walgreens and came together with purple spray paint, liquid nail glue and a plunger. Hope you enjoy my costume and Happy Halloween.

Darkwing Duck was a cartoon from 1991. They also made into a Nintendo game a little after that. The Homemade Darkwing Duck Costume is made up of a Joker costume jacket cut to fit my every need, various buttons and fabrics from a few stores, rubber boots, a daisy duck hat cut and turned into a beak that straps to my head with great ease, a large painted hat from a halloween store, white thrift store pants, and a lot of sewing! A few weeks later I was blessed with this awesome costume.

My friends went crazy over it and I haven't entered it into any contest until now. This world needs more awesome cartoons like Darkwing Duck. I am currently working on a new costume for Halloween but I still don't think I will be able to top this one. Wish me luck!

THATS ME!

I just noticed my costume was on here from google. Not sure if i should be flattered or scared. The Shirt is actually a Joker costume cut up and rebuilt with new buttons painted yellow. The Cape was fabric sewn together and then to the jacket. It is all one piece. The boots are from Walmart, they were the exact color of the beak. The head snaps on like a hat. The costume was super easy to put on in like 5 minutes. This is the best one I have ever done. The Tick was my second one and that came out good also. I need to get back into this! Thanks for the compliment!

Homemade?

Homemade costumes are homemade, not store bought already made items. My man makes EVERYTHING from scratch with material bought by the yard and foam to make all of his props. If you are going to say it's homemade, please make sure it's homemade. Thank you.
