I made this Homemade Sparks Can Costume from one of those collapsible laundry baskets inverted and cut holes for arms and head. That was the frame. The majority of the time was spent cutting out the letters and sewing the costume together! The copier and the sewing machine will be your best friend and the hot glue gun too!
I got the letters from the SPARKS website and copied them and enlarged and copied and enlarged, until I felt I had the right size. I used the stiff felt behind the letters and just hot glued them on there. The lip of the can was made with the stiff belting material, found at sewing stores and then sewn on the can. I think it is so FUN! I found the material on sale and all in all spent around 20 dollars. Also made the tab opener as a hat. Copied the tab on a copy machine and enlarged it to it was in proportion to the ‘can’. That was fun!
