Homemade Rainbow Brite Costume

I loved Rainbow Brite growing up so when I was invited to a party and I had to be something that started with the first letter of my name I had to be her! The only sewing I ever learnt was in grade 8 at high school, so I wasted a couple of meters of fabric making this Rainbow Brite Costume.

I made all the rings on her arms separate so I could bend my arms, brought a fake fringe and tied my hair in a pony. I was going to spray my hair with colour hair spray, but they couldn't guarantee that it wasn't going to stain my hair(I have blond foils in my hair).

I brought a pair of gumboots and spray painted the red and added some more rings to them. I really wanted to do Rainbow Brite justice and make the costume as exact as I could. I had a little bit too much fun making this costume but I think it turned out better than I had expected. Hopefully this gives someone ideas to make there own costume.
