Coolest Optimus Prime the Cartoon Version Homemade Costume

I made this Optimus Prime the Cartoon Version Homemade Costume mostly out of wood and cardboard, but it is much too heavy. I would recommend the use of Styrofoam next time. I made my boots out of wood on platforms with weights in them to make a rattling sound when I walk. Then I glued reflectors to them.

The head is made out of a plastic children’s transformer mask and a construction helmet painted blue. The windows are made out of Plexiglas lenses made for fluorescent lights. I placed some blinking lights behind them for effect. The grill is made of plastic chrome lens also for overhead lighting. I made quite a few trips to LOWES!

I glued lawn mower wheels to the sides of the boots and made a license plate for the back. I wore blue gloves and the groin region is made out of foam with duct tape on it. The exhaust pipes are made of shop vac hose extensions painted silver.

This costume took about a month to construct. The color comes from metallic wrapping paper.
