Oompa Loompa Halloween Costume
I made this Oompa Loompa Halloween costume for my children (ages 2 & 5) by using a few ideas from this site. I created my own pattern for the Oompa pants and sewed them with heavy felt. I purchased white socks and painted brown stripes and used Styrofoam balls painted with brown swirls for their shoe tops. I must say, I am very proud of my little Oompas!
An email from our family member who has worked for Nestle for over 20 years sums it up.
By the power vested in me from Willy Wonka himself, I hereby officially name these two Oompa Loompas the official costumes of Halloween 2008! As most of you know I've been working for the man for over 21 years and I can honestly say that I've never seen better Oompa Loompas. Not even at the actual Willy Wonka factory itself. I'm very proud of the kids today seeking a costume like this and boldly going out and asking for inferior candy. All for research of course only to see what the competition is doing.
