Mario and Luigi Costume
My two sons wanted to have a costume theme together but couldn't agree on anything. They love video games of course and I suggested a Mario and Luigi costume, but we didn't like the ideas we had seen. We came up with Bobble Head Mario and Luigi.
Using the kitchen table for a month was a sore spot with hubby, but it was worth it. Two beach balls and Styrofoam, paper mache', craft paint, felt for the hats and logo, hot glue (with blisters!), fuzzy yarn for the hair. Preowned overalls and sweatshirts.
Painted wooden circle for buttons. These were a bit heavy and I didn't want the kids to get hurt so we constructed a back and head support from PVC, duct tape and old school backpacks. Cut large slits in the mustaches so they could see and breathe of course!
They were the happiest boys on the block and we saw priceless brother bonding! Oh and now we have the kitchen table back, no more "picnics" on the living room floor. Hubby is happy, kids not so much!
