Little Red and The Big Bad Wolf

Little Red and The Big Bad Wolf

It was fall of 2004 and I had built a wolf costume that walked on all fours but still stood about 6 and half feet tall. Using a bike helmet as a base for the head, a lot of cardboard, foam, black fur, and PVC pipe for the front and rear legs, to say the least I was happy with the turn out.

After nearly killing myself walking around in it I figured it was best to disassemble most of it and call it a day. Keeping only the head, I laid the wolf to rest.

Fast forward to 2006. I am having my annual Halloween party and this Sorceress walks in. I have no idea who it is but she instantly has me under here spell. Two years later and we are still together.

While going through some boxes in the basement we came across my wolf head. That has been stored for almost 4 years. I pulled it out, looked at her and say how about being little red?

With in about 2 days she has fabric and a pattern and before I knew it she was Little Red, a good Little Red too, not like you buy at the Halloween shop.

Needless to say I was not going to risk falling again, so I modified the wolf based on Tex Avery cartoons, got a big chain and let the love of my life lead me around by it.

And here we are as Big Bad and Little Red. Her basket plays "Lil' Red Riding Hood" by Sam the Sham & the Paroahs too.

I've done my fair share of homemade costumes, but this has been the best.
