Homemade Transformer Costume

I began constructing this Homemade Transformer Costume in June of 2009. The technical challenge of creating a working transformer greatly appealed to me, although it did turn out to be more difficult and expensive than I had originally planned. It transforms from a working Ford Mustang into an Autobot, all with me inside! I have a great movie I made of a transformation I'd love to show you!

All of the electronics, including the LED lights and motors, are run off a small 12V battery located under the hood. The wheels do turn but they have a tough time getting enough traction to push me forward, which was the original intention. Hopefully "Blue Steel 2.0" will have that upgrade. I had a great time building this costume so I hope you enjoy it! Thanks!
