Cool Homemade Sushi Halloween Costume

I am 1/4th Japanese and grew up on sushi, so naturally, I dressed up as a giant California roll for Halloween 2010. My Homemade Sushi Halloween Costume was made from paper mache for the base. I covered the outside with a fuzzy textured material to look like seaweed. I used foam rubber and paint to create the avocado, celery, carrot, and fish cake center of the roll.

The most important and MOST time consuming part was the rice. I rolled hundreds of cotton balls in a water, glue, and flour mixture to shape them into rice. The finishing touch was my soy sauce hat, also made from paper mache.
