Homemade Rat in Trap Costume
I made this Homemade Rat in Trap Costume last year and it only cost me about $20.00 and about 1 hour of my day. I used a 1/2 inch electrical conduit pipe and a heat gun to make the spring and then covered it with aluminum foil. Then I made a rat out of grey cloth and stuffed it with newspaper.
The wood was a cardboard box that I painted to look like wood and a real trap, then re-enforced it with Styrofoam. I sprayed my hair with a grey hair paint and had some fake teeth to use as well. Painted my face and that was about it.
I won the prize at the little party I went to but considering how cheap my costume was it was worth it! I recommend this costume for a great reaction from anyone at any party! I saw the outfit for sale but I think making it yourself makes a much better outcome. A crowd pleaser!
