Homemade Pixar's Wall-E Costume

This is a Homemade Pixar's Wall-E Costume that was put together with easy to find items.

Body: The main body is a plain old box covered in textured wallpaper then painted yellow. I used copper and brown paint to dry-brush some scrapes/rust onto the body. For a rusted-through-metal look, I tore the wallpaper and painted copper under the edges. The wheels are made of cookie tins that I bought at Goodwill, painted black, then added details with silver and copper paint.

For the treads, I took a bamboo table-runner, cut it up the middle, and spray-painted the strips black. For the detailed instruments and hands, I used painted foam-board. For a cool effect, I drilled holes through the box and inserted a cheap speaker connected to an iPod from which I can play sound effects.

Head: The head is a modified hat. I used a small box which I cut into a V shape for the rear portion of the head, adding wires for effect. As for the eye-sockets on front, I cut oval shapes out of foam board, made them into a frame, then covered the sides with foam-paper. These were glued to the V shaped box which goes over the hat. The eyes are simply CD's with flashlight heads attached.
