Homemade Parakeet Costume
I started this Homemade Parakeet Costume by sewing a sort of potato sac type costume with an elastic at mid thigh and a hood. Then I proceeded to glue feather by feather the plumage of the parakeet. I wore a colorful striped pyjama pant and yellow dishwasher gloves over my shoes and glued a few boas down the backside to make a tail.
Then I did my makeup! It was a colorful comfortable costume though it took many many hours of glueing! Not to mention emptying all my neighborhood stores of their hot glue gun stick glue. I work in a daycare and the children had a great time petting me all day and listening to me make bird calls.
