Homemade Mystique Costume
For my homemade Mystique costume, I bought a blue unitard after deciding that it was too cold where I live to use body paint or liquid latex.
I cut scale-shaped pieces out of some shiny blue fabric I bought and used liquid latex to glue them onto the suit. I also painted the suit to simulate scales. For the foot protection, I cut flip-flops to the shape of the soles of my feet and glued them onto my costume, using liquid latex. I painted the flip-flops to match my outfit.
I molded scales for my face out of a mixture of liquid latex and acrylic paint. I used liquid latex to glue them onto my face. I then painted my face blue, put yellow contacts in, slicked back my hair, and sprayed it orange.
