Homemade Mystique Costume
I got my idea for Mystique because she is one of my favorite X-Men characters. I researched online and found a few techniques that I combined to come up with this Homemade Mystique Costume.
First, I pulled up images of Mystique from the internet and had them printed. After that, I put on my yellow contacts and I slicked my hair back and used 2 cans of red hair spray to color my hair - 30 minutes.
Next, my daughter drew a pattern on my legs and back and I did my face and chest. I got Metallic Silver fabric (3D) paint and filled in a pattern as best as I could to match Mystique's photos online. This part took us about 2.5 hours.
Next, a friend of mine showed up and airbrushed me. The first layer was a white paint, the second layer was black accents on the scales and the third layer was a mixture of a glaze and pearlized blue paint. This took about 2 more hours.
The finished product was a REALLY cool Mystique. My boyfriend looks like Wolverine so we looked AWESOME together.
Hope you like it.
