Homemade Little Bo Peep and Her Lost Sheep Costume

For Halloween this year, my daughter dressed in a Homemade Little Bo Peep and Her Lost Sheep Costume.

To make the sheep costume, I purchased an inexpensive, plain, long-sleeved white cotton T-shirt, several sizes larger than my daughter would typically wear. I placed a piece of cardboard inside the shirt to ensure the glue wouldn't adhere to the underside of the shirt. I purchased two large bags of cotton balls. You may need more or less depending on the size of the shirt. I used school glue to adhere cotton balls to the front and back of the t-shirt. (I dipped each cotton ball individually.) I used a yard of small white curtain pompoms and machine sewed them around the bottom of the t-shirt to finish the look. My daughter wore black cotton pants underneath.

For the bonnet, I used a pre-made white toddler's bonnet. I machine sewed additional small white curtain pompoms around the brim. I purchased a square of white and pink felt. I stenciled a pattern for the ears on paper and transferred the pattern to the white felt. I cut two ears from the white felt. I then made a smaller version of the ear and cut two more ears from the pink felt. I used school glue to attach the small pink ears to the larger white ears. I then hand stitched the ears in a downward fashion onto the sides of the bonnet. I removed the plain white ties and replaced them with pink satin ribbon.
