Coolest Homemade Halo Scout Halloween Costume

This is the Homemade Halo Scout Halloween Costume I built for my 11 year old son of the Scout armor from the video game Halo. It was built from cardboard and hot glue to make the form of the costume.

I then covered it with fiberglass to give it strength. Auto body filler was then used to smooth the surface and add details. A couple of coats of red paint and details in black and it was about finished. The gold visor was cut from a plastic ice cream bucket, painted and then covered with packing tape to keep the paint from scratching off.

There are blue LED lights in the chest plate and knees. The shotgun was made from a broken plastic toy machine gun, electrical conduit, PVC pipe and cardboard. The costume took nearly 120 hours of time and cost about $100 to build. The majority of the cost was for the fiberglass cloth and resin, auto body filler and spray paint.

  1. You definitely have a lot of talent. That is very cool. I made one out of card board once but did not last since I did not have the ideal tools to make it last more than 2 months. Either ways, very cool, it is a work of true talent.
