Coolest Homemade Female Beetlejuice Costume

This Female Beetlejuice Costume was my costume for Halloween 2008. Originally my boyfriend and I were going to be Beetlejuice and Lydia. However, we broke up before Halloween. I then took it upon myself to be Beetlejuice, but with a twist. I wore a skirt rather than pants. The photo isn’t my favorite, but it’s the only one that shows most of the costume.

I could only find a single white jacket, $5 at Goodwill. I got a huge bargain on a white Express brand skirt for $3 at another thrift store. Unfortunately I don’t have a photo of the shoes, but they were PERFECT black and white striped heels I purchased for $5 at Thrift Town. I used my own white button down shirt, black and white tie, black tights, and black duck tape. The wig and makeup were purchased cheap from WalMart. The overall cost of the costume was around $20.

My current boyfriend and I made a 4 hour drive to Lubbock,TX where our friends were living and going to school. Using duck tape, I taped the black stripes onto my jacket and skirt during the ride there. By the time we arrived, it was already dark and I had to rush to get ready. I applied the face paint, teased and teased the hair, and finished it off with white hair spray. I also rubbed green face paint into parts to give it a dingier look. I wish the makeup could have been more accurate, but I was in a hurry and working with cheap materials. Overall, I was satisfied with the finished product. Everyone was floored when I walked out of the bathroom, so the costume was definitely a success! And to top it all off, I found Lydia at a local bar!

Oh and FYI, that is my boyfriend dressed at The Cable Guy (the bathroom scene).
