Homemade Departed Marilyn Monroe Costume
A few years ago, I dressed up as Marilyn Monroe for a fancy dress party. The costume stayed lost at the back of my wardrobe until I was invited to a zombie-themed party in the run-up to Halloween. Instead of zombifying myself, I decided to go as an 'undead' Marilyn.
I did my make up exactly the same as hers (except with very pale foundation) then I drew huge dark circles under my eyes and blended it in well. Using some blue face paint, I drew on lots of veins over my chest and arms.
Next came the blood! for a really gross out effect, I painted on liquid latex in patches then peeled it off when it was dry so it looked like my skin was falling off. To finish, I covered the wounds and the dress in fake blood.
This Homemade Departed Marilyn Monroe Costume was so quick and easy to put together and a great way to beat the credit crunch and recycle. I got so many people coming up to me and complimenting me, and managed to gross out a fair few too!
