Coolest Homemade Dead Groom and Bride Couple Halloween Costume

My wife loves the life-size, animated Halloween decoration she calls “Grady” that she bought years ago so we set out to replicate it this year for our homemade dead groom and bride couple Halloween costume.

The coat and top hat were bought in a store in the Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco. The vintage ruffled shirt and buckle boots were bought on eBay. The hair was from a local wig shop, the cane borrowed from a friend. The vest was made for me by a friend of ours and the jewelry bought locally.

The face and hand make-up was done by a friend of ours. All in all it was about 6 weeks in the assembling of the parts and then a couple of hours to get make-up and dressed.

Took the top prize at the Halloween party we attended. She was made to be my dead bride as you can see and she matched me.

  1. I had the zipper removed and a corset lace up put in the back, it was in black. My stole was white I died it, the bow, and rosettes black, then hot glues the spiders on it. The vintage dress came with rust stains and I took the veil died it black, Spray painted the flowers on it and added some small red roses for color, spider webs, and some spiders. I made and tossed the flower to people in the audience.
