My two year old wanted to be a Choo Choo train, and I wanted the costume to be something that involved sewing, which I am in the process of learning. So instead of creating the typical cardboard train costume, my mother-in-law and I brainstormed and made our own pattern out of news-paper. We came up with the coolest Choo Choo train Halloween costume!

The fabric was cheap, around $2 a yard. The body is supported by old wire coat-hangers that were bent and put into the seams. The face, in the form of a a pillow, was hand sewn onto the front. It was painted with a fabric marker, and the rest of the details were from squeeze bottle fabric paint.

The hood of the train was also made by making a simple pillow; this was then attached to the frame by hand stitching along the front and back corners. The bell was just a $2 bell from Hobby Lobby. The total cost of the costume was $19. Every one loved the costume and she received many compliments all night.

Cool Costume! I thought a pattern like that would be too difficult for me to make. Someone did a good job and the little girl is cute too.
