Catch of the Day Costume
For a friend's Halloween party my husband and I dressed up as Catch of the day costume. He was the fisherman and I was the mermaid that he caught!
To make this (the mermaid)costume I suspended a cardboard box to fit around my waist. I bought some shimmery material from the fabric store and I made a pattern for a small tail and bikini top. I stuffed the tail. Sewed on the bikini top and the tail to a white shirt. To decorate the box I attached some netting to the back(to hide my rear end) and I wrote "Catch of the day" on the front. I also wore black pants so my legs were not visible and put on a wig.
For the Fisherman my husband had a pair of rain pants with suspenders and an old man mask. It was the hit of the party!
