Homemade Big Bird Costume
Last year was the first real year I could take my little boy trick or treating. I wanted to make my very first attempt at making his costume myself. One morning while watching Sesame Street, it came to me. And the Big Bird Costume was born.
I started out with just a plain zipper up hooded sweatshirt, to which I hot glued 3 bright yellow feather boas to. I cut the strips of feather boa to length for the sleeves and around the back and front. I also made a beak out of Styrofoam cone, and balls for eyes. I hot glued them to the top of the head.
I put my kiddo in some orange sweatpants, and cut out feet from orange felt and tacked them to his tennis shoes for an easy to walk in "feet".
