Alien with Flying Saucer Costume
My son wanted to be a space ship for Halloween, so after much thought and ideas bouncing all over the place, I came up with a solution! Why not be the space ship and the alien? And thus, this Alien with Flying Saucer costume was born!
A round cardboard disc and crumpled newspaper, secured with masking tape became the base for the space ship. I simply shaped the newspaper into the form of a donut. Covered it with paper mache (strips of newspaper dipped in a flour/water mixture). A coat of grey paint and added painted extras like windows and lights finished it off.
I added elastic straps (duct taped to the bottom of the ship) and dressed my son in green with a simple headband with green pipe cleaners for antanae!
He was the hit of the party!
