Cool Transformers Bumblebee Costume for a Boy

This year my son asked me to make a costume from the movie TRANSFORMERS… BUMBLEBEE.  I put the costume together using mostly some white plastic board and foam sheets from the craft store. The whole costume cost me about $8 (and most of that was spray paint).

I bought a gladiator helmet at the dollar store and painted it and added to it to make it look like bumblebee’s head.  I found a large ‘U’ shaped piece of foam and used it to make large shoulder pads that the front of the Chevy Camero and wings/doors would be attached to with zip ties.  He wore a black top and bottom that I added pieces of cut yellow foam to give him more bulk.  He wore his own shoes that I covered with more yellow and black foam to make them blend in with the costume.
