Having always been a fan of making my own Halloween costume I decided I would "branch" out last year on this idea. I have seen many Christmas tree costumes online before but none of them had been very realistic. I spent many hours thinking of the best way to coordinate everything into making the best Christmas Tree costume ever!
I used individual strings of garland and about 50 ornaments. This costume has actual working strings of lights! I even had the star on top lit up. I made every part of the actual "tree" and did not copy anyone else's idea! This took a lot of thought and patience and it payed off because it was big hit. I wish I could be this every year because it was so much fun! It's not every day you see Christmas trees on Halloween so it was awesome to be something different instead of your usual vampire, witch, ghost or ghoul.
Coolest Christmas Tree Costume (with Little Red Riding Hood)
I took the idea from Katy Perry's Christmas Tree costume. I wanted to make it like a dress, and it had to be awesome (I won the costume contest *-*).
I drew the costume, but I'm not a good designer, so I'll not show the drawing. I used satin and buckram to do it look like a tree, then I did a dress and the buckram is glued on the dress with velcro. I used led lights (used in led necklaces for parties), so the costume blinks. ^^ All the rest I bought and I glued in the buckram. There is a star in my head and gifts in my legs (they're small but they're there and one of them blink too).
You can see the video of the costume here (if you watch it till the end, you can see the blinking lights, I hope you enjoy it. ;)
