This is a very simple "gory" idea for my son who did not want to look "cute" for Halloween anymore. Cut flyswatter out of cardboard. I used masking tape to give it the "checkered" look; spray painted it gold and then removed the masking tape (which I used for the stripes on the back of his black turtleneck). Bought the wings for $5.00 at a local costume shop, drew antennas, add some fake blood and voila there you have it.
