I love Anime, and my favorite is Digimon. When a friend told me about cosplay, which is a combination of Costume, and Play, I decided to try it out. I loved Guilmon, and I thought why not try a Guilmon from Digimon Costume?

I used craft foam from Joannns, cotton red fabric, and sculpy clay. I took an old winter hat, and pulled it far past my eyes. Then marking where my eyes had been, I cut a small hole big enough for my mouth, nose and eyes to breath.

I carved out of a slab of foam what would soon be the bottom jaw. I hot glued it on the bottom of the hole. Then I made the top part of the snout and fastened it, using a long strip of foam to the side of the winter hat and it stuck. Then I carved the ears, the ridges, and anything else that is featured on his head. Then I covered it with the red fabric.

I covered the eye holes with a window liner so that I could see out and put detail on them. For the tail, it’s simply fabric with stuffing inside, with an elastic band to pull it over my legs.

The hands are complete foam, with a hole inside for my hands. The claws are done the same way as the head’s ears and snout. Then I covered it with material.

The feet are made out of an old pair of shoes that I glued foam onto to give it shape and material was glued onto it also.

The result was this: a Guilmon! When I went to my first large Anime convention, everybody loved it! I love making costumes, and am in the process of making a Garurumon!

Coolest Homemade Domo Halloween Costume 2

Homemade Domo Halloween Costume

My step brother and I love the little creater Domo from the store 7 Eleven. So we had the idea to make a life size Homemade Domo Halloween Costume. So we went all over to look for ideas on how to make Domo. We finally came up with the idea to use PVC as the frame.

So we made a box frame with shoulder and a head slot. Then we took brown blankets that we bought from the store and sewed them together to make his fur. It took about 4 blankets to sew the whole body. After that we made arm out of the same material and we stuffed them with stuffing.

Then we took plastic screen and painted it red and white for his mouth. We put eight teeth 4 on the top and four on the bottom. Then we sewed that into the body. After that we cut two black eyes out of materials. Then we sewed them onto the body and stuffed then with stuffing to make them 3D looking.

I like this idea. And by the way - Domo is a Japanese cartoon, 7 eleven didn't make him up.

Every year we try to have fun and original costumes. Over the years we have learned to make our own costumes. This year we decided to go with a Disney theme. Babette and Lumiere are from Beauty and the Beast and these are characters that are rarely seen.

We made every single aspect of these costumes. I sewed Lumiere pants and a shirt from gold fabric, used buckets on his hands and added more fabric to the bottom. I made gloves for his hands and we colored on the flames. We made his hat and added on colored tape for flames. For Babette I made a knee length dress and added feather boa pieces to the bottom, I made a small apron to add contrast to the dress and I made a hat with felt and elastic.

Overall I think our Homemade Lumiere and Babette Couple Costume came out great! Plus we had a lot of fun being creative this Halloween.
