Homemade Queens Of The Deck Group Costume

To begin making our Homemade Queens Of The Deck Group Costume, one of our moms sewed the dresses (made out of broadcloth), sashes (princess satin) and a crinoline skirt to make our dresses poof out. We all cut out felt symbols and super glued them to the dresses on the front and back. We wore earrings made from a mini pack of cards and earring hooks. We also made scepters out of wooden sticks purchased from a craft store and glued our symbols and respective "Queen" card on the end.

We wore white fishnet stockings, crowns, elbow high gloves and red or black shoes depending on our card color. We decided to make our dresses and accessories all white to look like actual cards. We also glued the symbols on the bottom half of our dresses to look like actual cards with the symbols upside down and right side up.

Everyone loved our costumes and we felt like real Queens!

Coolest Homemade Jack of Hearts Costume 3

Homemade Jack of Hearts Costume

Homemade Jack of Hearts Costume

This is the last year we are doing a Jack of Hearts Costume for our son Jack. All I did this year was buy 2 white poster boards. Then I drew the front of a bicycle card on one poster board and a Jack of hearts on the other poster board. It was not too difficult to draw it free hand (and I am not an artist).

Coloring it in was time consuming though and I would have spare markers on hand (because mine did dry up). Then I poked holes in the tops of the poster board and put some string through it so when my son wore the poster board it would be worn like a sandwich board. Make sure to measure the poster board before drawing because if it is too tall they will have difficulty walking.

I just let my son wear his regular clothing underneath (which suits all sorts of weather conditions).

We had a “P” party where everyone had to dress as something beginning with P. We love our poker so came up with Pocket Aces. We got four pieces of poster card and decorated the back using a sponge and poster paint. We then cut “As”, hearts and spades out of black and red card.

My boyfriend bought a plastic beach spade and I drew spades on his cheeks. I then bought a pair of tights with hearts at the top and tacky heart shaped jewelery.

This was a lot of fun and pretty cheap to make!

Coolest Homemade Playing Cards Costumes 6

Homemade Playing Cards Costumes

My roommate and I dressed up as the Playing Cards Costumes from Disney's Alice in Wonderland who were 'painting the roses red.' The costumes were really easy to make.

The cards were made out of pillowcases and felt, and I made the buckets out of cardboard and duct tape. I'm wearing a ski mask and my friend made a headdress out of fabric and a hanger.

This is a good group costume idea because the number of people in the group doesn't matter.

My husband and I did this Homemade Cards Couple Costume 2 weeks before Halloween in 2001. We did all with glue, different kind of tissues, hard carton and Velcrod everything.

We had fun to doing this but we were in big rush to finish this project and that's the result in the picture.
