This Beetlejuice Costume was an easy costume to make. We first found a white suit from a second hand store. That was probably the hardest part, as white must not be a popular colour suit to get rid of. Than taped stripes on it, I don't remember what kind of tape we used, but something that pulls off of fabric but doesn't leak paint. Some sort of packaging tape or that red tuck tape would work.

We than spray painted the up taped striped black. It took a few coats. Once the paint was dry we removed the tape. He stuffed the belly of a larger sized white button up shirt. We found the shirt and tie at second hand stores. His wig was bought at Walmart. I cut it up so that it was choppy and back comped it and used hair spray so that it was messed up and stood strait u pas much as possible. He made sure to have a bit of a five o-clock shadow, and painted his face white. We used lots of black around the eyes.

And that was it.

I live in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada and I am a Lakehead University student. I have had the dress for three years with the intention of going as Lady Beetlejuice for Halloween. I bought it in a small shop in Edmonton, Alberta. Make-Up was purchased at Shopper's Drug Mart and a Halloween store, Helium Highs. Prescription creepy contacts purchased online via "Haunted Eyes".

I wore white tights under fishnets and tall leather boots. White make-up also was applied to all visible skin. I really liked my costume but missed the opportunity to enter any costume contests because I had to bartend at work until after they were all over. It took about 20 minutes to apply the make-up, tease the hair, and get dressed. The contacts were easy to see out of because they were prescription and very comfortable.

Total cost: Dress $30.00; Make-Up (new purchased for costume); $20.00; Contact Lenses: $80.00.

Total Outfit Cost: $130.00

These Homemade Beetlejuice and Miss Argentina DIY Halloween Costumes were my first ever homemade costumes! I started by picking out fabric to make the cape and used wire from a craft store to mold the flames. I then sewed by hand the flame cape and stuck the wire outline into the sewed flame. I found the wig online and pinned it up and made the sash using satin fabric and glue on letters. I also painted my body green and added blue around the eyes making it as authentic as possible.

My boyfriend of course had to be Beetlejuice and we painted his face as well! We had a great time putting the whole look together and came in 1st place at our Halloween Party. Showtime=Success!

I decided to be Beetlejuice as that is my Nickname from my brother since I was about 15 yrs old. And the reason for that is as you will see in my photo of my Beetlejuice Costume, this is all my natural hair!!

Everything is homemade. I bought the pants and jacket and hand painted the stripes on both, it was about a 5 hr job. I had an awesome time making this and cant wait for the real day to wear it. My photo is a try-out and I LOVED IT and got many compliments.
