I love Beetlejuice and have always wanted to do a costume, but I never felt like I related to Lydia... I relate more so to the mom, however - nobody would know who she is without having a Beetlejuice character. And I've always loved Miss Argentina and her attitude so I decided to create a homemade Beetlejuice Miss Argentina costume.

I help Evil Fire Lizard at conventions sell special effects makeup. Bought the color from them (and it was the perfect coloring as well) and they helped me create slit wrists as well. My friend Candy helped me make the dress (consignment shop, we altered it to fit me), and the cape (Fairy Wings we modified and fabric).

The wig was a beehive wig I saw at the store, bought some extensions in the wig store and hot glued them to the beehive so I would have the curls she had. The sash I bought online.

My homemade Beetlejuice Miss Argentina costume was a huge hit at the convention... and at the end - my friend Laura (who helped me apply the makeup) - surprised me by dressing up as a female Beetlejuice at the booth :D (Photo is attached). She made the costume from scratch as well.

I made both of these homemade Beetlejuice and Lydia couple costumes... a lot of of material... and a lot of time. They were so fun to make. The day of Halloween usually starts really early in the make up chair for everyone and ends like eight hours later. Halloween is taken very serious and so are the costumes I make. I figure if I can't go all out, I choose another costume I can go all out for. If I can't do the original costume justice, I just move on to another idea.

I'm very resourceful when I made these. I died the hoop-slip... went to Los Angeles and bought a ton of material. Beetlejuice's costume started from a womans' pant suit, and I tailored it. I made the wig from scratch for Beetlejuice and I also made the bangs for Lydia... I didn't have bangs when I was Lydia for Halloween. Ironically, I had them cut 3 days later :") I also made the bouquet out of left over material and the shoes Beetlejuice is wearing were bought from a thrift store and painted white. Thanks for the consideration.

Halloween is my favorite holiday. However my fiance' said he would only dress up with me if he liked the costume. So it came down to a homemade Beetlejuice and Lydia costume.

I purchased a black negligee from Salvation Army and painted a spider web on the front with fabric paint. I bought 2 pairs of red fishnet stockings and cut one pair to fit my arms and wore the other on my legs. I had an old black Indian wig from a previous year.

My fiance's costume is actually a women's white pant suit from Salvation army. I took it out on our driveway, duct taped it with stripes then spray painted it black, flipped it over and did the back side too. The only thing I bought at a Halloween store is his wig, for $9. And I teased it with a comb and hairspray.

I got my plastic jewelry from salvation army and a piece of fabric from Wal-mart and sewed it around an old head band for my veil. We won 1st place and a bucket of beer for that costume!

Coolest Homemade Beetlejuice on Rollercoaster Costume 25

For my homemade Beetlejuice on Rollercoaster costume, I started off looking for black trousers and a blazer.

I then bought white Contac paper, cut it in slices and taped and sewed the paper to the suit. I bought vinyl for my hair and white, green and black paint for my face. Then I bought a couple of black and white cardboard pieces to create the rails of the rollercoaster. I bought three sheets of Styrofoam to construct the rollercoaster support.

Finally, I watched a Beetlejuice trailer to see how the rollercoaster mine cart looked. I pasted some yellow paper on a cardboard box with glue. I spent about $15 on my entire costume.
