Homemade Bacon and Eggs Child's Couple Halloween Costume Idea
Hey there~ my name is Ashley B., I am a stay at home mother of 2! Kyler Kash is 16 months and Brinley Sage is 4 1/2! This year I wanted to do something “Exciting and Creative” for their costumes! Its Kylers 1st year walking for Halloween and Brinleys 1st year to “Take” her baby brother with her. So I wanted them to go as a “pair” but, didn’t want to do the “norm” so I brainstormed for a few days and one morning over breakfast I decided I would “attempt” to make a homemade Bacon and Eggs child's couple Halloween costume idea!
I wasn’t sure how I was going to do it, I looked at few ideas on the internet and didn’t see anything that I just fell in love with soooo, I went to Hobby Lobby, I picked up some foam poster board, felt, glitter, ribbon and spray adhesive then for the yolk of the egg I hit up Dollar General and got a bowl on sale for $0.50!!! I took everything home and started cutting and gluing and came up with what I think turned out to be pretty cute costumes ALL for less than $25!
Hope you think they are as fun as our family did! Ashley

Homemade Bacon and Eggs with Toast Costume
I made this easy Homemade Bacon and Eggs with Toast Costume. I used quilting batting for the egg white, and yellow felt for the yolk. I stuffed the yolk with more batting and hand-sewed the yolk onto the white. I sewed the shoulders and sides together and my son wore it over a white turtleneck.
For the bacon "arms" I took long strips of red felt and added tan felt strips to make it look like the fat. Then, I sewed elastic on the back of the bacon to make it look wrinkled up. I took more elastic and sewed loops at the top and bottom of the bacon so my son could slide it on his arm. You also need a loop at the elbow.
For the toast, it's simply a piece of foam board spray painted to look like toast and a yellow sponge for the butter.
Comments for Coolest Homemade Bacon and Eggs with Toast Costume
The egg was made out of poster-board, cut into an egg shape. Then we spray painted a plastic bowl yellow to be the yolk. We hot glued it on to the poster board off center. To attach it to the body we had 2 straps crossing in the back attached with velcro to the poster-board.
The bacon was also poster-board cut into a bacon shape. Next we cut out a head whole. The coloring was 2 driffrent colors of spray paint. This was attached the same way as the egg.
Our Bacon and Egg Couple Costume got many compliments.
This Homemade Eggs and Bacon Costume is the easiest costume EVER.
I cut out a large piece of wavy edged cardboard I painted white to create the “egg white,” making an opening for my head in the middle. Got two pieces of Styrofoam that I shaped and painted to look like Bacon and affixed them at an angle onto the egg white with twist ties.
On my head I wore a plastic bowl spray painted yellow to create the egg yolk. I wore bunny slippers, flannel pajamas with a breakfast print all over them and carried a spatula.
My son Kevin has autism - and he eats very few things, one of which is bacon. He said "no" to every costume suggestion, until I asked if he wanted to be "bacon". As his name is Kevin, he became Kevin Bacon. He loved it!
