Jayden’s Homemade Alien and UFO Costume is a ride-on UFO that was handmade from a variety of different materials. His Alien costume was made from thermal pajamas adorned with space shapes made out of foam fabric and duct tape. His mask was hand painted with a glow in the dark paint that is frightfully realistic when the lights are out. Included in his outfit are a neck piece that aliens usually wear; a giant space belt, shoulder shields, cuff links, and ankle trimmings.
His ride on UFO was made out of a wagon hidden beneath foam board and duct tape. The best thing about this costume is the strobe lights that light up as if an alien has landed. This UFO is adorned with many stars and a license plate that reads, “Going Green”.
This Homemade Alien and UFO Costume was so much fun to make! My son loved riding in it and pretending to be an alien.
The following video is when we were testing out the lights on the UFO:
Last year I decided that I wanted to make my son an Alien for Halloween, but I wanted to do the one from the movie Alien. But knowing that my husband and I would be going to a Halloween party where a lot of people really put some effort into their costumes, I decided that my husband and I would also be Aliens.
I started with my sons costume to make sure I could pull this off. All and all, I was really happy with the results. I papier-mâché’d the masks/helmets and then latex’d over that. The chest pieces are made from life jackets and foam tubes, also latex’d.
All the clothing under was latex’d as well. I think I went through a gallon jug on all 3 costumes. These Alien costumes were a hit at the party and the neighborhood on Halloween night. Kirstin, Jeffrey, & Dylan Thomas
